TCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week (Jan. 25, 2010)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Salve Regina University graduate student guard Jabreche Boyd (West Haven, Conn.) averaged 30.5 points per game on 58 % (17-of-29) shooting and 5.5 rebounds per contest in a 1-1 week for the Seahawks. Boyd drilled a career-high seven three-pointers and grabbed five rebounds in a 84-70 win over Nichols, then followed up with a career-high 35 points in a 96-85 loss to WNEC. In addition to shooting 58% from the field, Boyd went 50% (10-of-20) from beyond the arc and 71% (17-of-24) from the line on the week.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Colby-Sawyer College freshman forward Jason Chevrefils (Manchester, N.H.) recorded a pair of double-doubles and averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds in a 1-1 week of TCCC play for the Chargers. Chevrefils posted a team-high 20 points and 13 rebounds in a tough 89-79 overtime loss at Curry, then dropped a career-high 24 points and snatched 11 rebounds in a 82-73 win over Nichols. For the week, Chevrefils shot 54 % (15-of-28) from the floor and 67 % (14-of-21) from the line.
