Western New England Selected as Preseason Favorite to Win 2008 TCCC Men's Soccer Championship

Springfield, Mass. -- Western New England College, defending champions of The Commonwealth Coast Conference, has been selected as the favorite to win the 2008 TCCC men’s soccer championship, it was announced today by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. Voting for the preseason poll was conducted among the league’s head men’s soccer coaches.
Western New England College (15-6-2, 10-2 TCCC) received 12 of the 14 first-place votes in the 2008 TCCC preseason poll. Roger Williams University was selected second while receiving the remaining two first-place votes. Wentworth Institute of Technology and Gordon College were picked to finish third and fourth, respectively.
With the addition of Regis College, all 14 TCCC member institutions will be competing for the men’s soccer championship for the first time in 2008.
Teams received 14 points for every first place vote received, 13 points for second place votes, 12 points for third place votes, down to one point for a last place vote. First place votes are shown in parentheses.
