TCCC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week (Apr. 12, 2010)

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –  Endicott College sophomore midfielder Morgan DeShaw (Danville, N.H.) filled up the stat sheet this week, scroing 10 goals and adding six assists totaling a team-high 16 points the Gulls. She scored a pair of goals in a 18-7 loss to #20 Bates to open up the week. Her best performance came in a crucial conference match-up with UNE, as she scored six goals and tallied three assists in a 18-8 win. DeShaw closed out the week with two goals and three assists in a 21-4 win over Nichols, keeping the Gulls unbeaten at 7-0 in TCCC play. For the week, DeShaw also contributed seven draw controls, six ground balls, and three caused turnovers.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –  Roger Williams University senior goalkeeper Amanda Magee (Columbus, N.J.) had an impressive week between the posts for the Hawks, recording an astonishing 41 daves with a 82 % save percentage and a stingy 3.61 goals against average. In 43 minutes of action against Rhode Island College, Magee made 14 saves and allowed just three goals in a 16-7 win. She followed up with nine saves and two goals allowed in 46:45 of play against TCCC rival Salve Regina in a 16-4 victory. Magee closed out the week with 18 saves in a 14-4 win over conference foe Colby-Sawyer.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – New England College freshman attacker Katie Palasz (Granby, Mass.) tallied an impressive 20 points (12 goals, eight assists) in a 3-1 week for the Pilgrims. Palasz scored three goals and an assist in a 14-9 loss to Keene State and three goals and three assists in a 18-8 win over Smith. In conference play, Palasz scored two goals and dished out four assists in a 20-5 win over Anna Maria, then notched four goals in a 21-4 in over Regis. Palasz also recorded 12 draw controls, eight caused turnovers, and eight ground balls on the week.
