Endicott Earns Trip to NCAA Softball Championship; #2 seed in Plattsburgh Regional

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division III Softball Committee has announced the 59 teams that will compete in the Division III Softball Championship. The Endicott Gulls (38-4) earned The Commonwealth Coast Conference automatic berth by capturing their sixth-straight TCCC tournament. The Gulls will be the #2 seed in the Plattsburgh Regional and will meet #7 Keuka (23-7) in their first game. Keuka landed an automatic bid by winning the North East Atlantic Conference (NEAC)Championship. The Plattsburgh region is a seven team site, with #1 seed Montclair St. (42-4) earning a first round bye.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Jon Hayes (Waltham, MA) led a balanced scoring attack with three goals and an assist as No. 15 Western New England College rolled to an easy 14-4 victory over visiting Western Connecticut State University in a first round game of the 2008 NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship Wednesday afternoon (May 7).

AMHERST, Mass. - Amherst College used a 9-1 run to move past visiting Endicott College, 16-7, in the First Round of the 2008 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship on Wednesday afternoon in Amherst, Massachusetts. Endicott ends its season at 15-6, while Amherst improves to 14-3 and will head to regional host Franklin & Marshall College to take on Washington & Lee in the round of 16 on Saturday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m.
